About Emily Atkinson
Artist, Traveler, and Memory Maker
Emily Atkinson is an artist and arts educator originally from Austin, Texas. She has previously lived in Austin, New York, New Mexico, San Antonio, Tokyo, and Holden Village, and now resides in Tacoma, Washington. Her artwork reflects her life experiences, and includes photography, jewelry, installations, constructed pieces, electronic media, and colored pencil drawings on wood. She enjoys incorporating maps into her work, along with text and story-telling elements. Her most recent group show was at the Golden West Gallery in Stehekin, Washington, in 2018, as a Holden Villager.
She also creates "fun" pieces - stuffed animals, pen and ink/watercolor illustrations, hand dyed and painted fabrics, and embroidered works.
